All registered farmers will have to furnish their ration card details to continue receiving benefits from PM Kisan Yojana.

With a view to supporting the agrarian economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, also popularly known as the PM Kisan Yojana, in 2018. Through this scheme, small and marginal farmers can receive up to Rs 6000 per annum as pension. This income support is paid out in three equal instalments of Rs 2000 each year, at intervals of four months.
On 31 May 2022, PM Modi released Rs 21,000 crore towards the eleventh instalment of the scheme, which is expected to benefit about 10 crore farming families.
How to avail of the benefit of PM Kisan Yojana?
All landholding farmers with cultivable land from both rural and urban areas, as well as small and marginal farmers, are eligible for the scheme. To register, farmers need to submit a copy of their Aadhaar Card, landholding documents (if applicable), and bank account details with their ‘patwari’ or local revenue officer.

What are the new rules for PM Kisan Yojana?
Authorities have found that certain people have been using fraudulent means to claim benefits and pocket the money that's meant for the underprivileged. With a view to bring in better accountability and reduce instances of fraud, an amendment has been made to the guidelines. All registered farmers will have to furnish their ration card details to continue receiving benefits from PM Kisan Yojana. Additionally, farmers need to complete a one-time PM Kisan eKYC, which will do away with the need to submit paperwork to claim benefits every single time.
How to update PM Kisan eKYC?
For online submission, farmers need to visit the official website of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana at pmkisan.gov.in.
They should click on the eKYC link on the right-hand side of the page, enter their Aadhaar Card number and the captcha code. They will then be prompted to enter their mobile number. It should be borne in mind that this mobile number has to be linked to one’s Aadhaar. Enter the OTP received in the specified field, and the eKYC will be complete.

The same can also be done offline at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC). Eligible farmers can submit their updates for the PM Kisan account, verify the same via a biometric login, upload the requisite PM Kisan documents and submit the form. On completion, they will receive a confirmation SMS. Service at the CSC may be subject to a nominal fee.
Once the process is completed, the eKYC also gives successful applicants access to the ‘farmers corner’ on the PM Kisan portal, where one can edit details or receive updates on the status of the pension receivable. To continue receiving benefits for this trimester, farmers need to complete the eKYC on or before 31 July 2022.
