Jeevan Praman Patra or life certificate is an important requirement for pensioners. All pensioners are required to submit this document once a year. The deadline for the same is 30 November 2023. It is submitted by the senior citizen pensioner at the office of the authorised pension disbursing agency, typically banks and post offices. Making this task simpler is the Jeevan Pramaan portal and mobile app, through which a pensioner can generate the digital life certificate.

The HDFC Bank Senior Citizen Care FD is valid till 7 November 2023. This FD offers an additional interest of 0.75% to resident senior citizens. It is available for deposits below Rs 5 crores, for a tenure of five years and one day to ten years.

Punjab and Sindh Bank’s Dhan Lakshmi FD for 444 days remain valid till 30 November 2023 only. It is offering an interest rate of 7.4%, which increases to 7.9% for senior citizens and 8.05% for super senior citizens.

IDBI Bank’s festive FD scheme, the Amrit Mahotsav Callable FD is also valid till 30 November 2023. Available for 375-day and 444-day options, the interest rates offered to senior citizens are 7.6% and 7.65% respectively.

Income Tax Due Dates
Here are the important due dates and deadlines for various income tax activities –

The due date for depositing tax deducted and collected is 7 November 2023.

The last date for issuing TDS certificates for September 2023 is 14 November 2023. This is applicable for TDS deducted under sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M and 194S.

Quarterly TDS certificates for payments other than salary made for the quarter ending 30 September 2023 have to be furnished by 15 November 2023.

By 30 November 2023, challan-cum-statement for tax deducted during October 2023 under sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M and 194S must be furnished.

30 November 2023 is also the ITR filing deadline day for charitable trusts, religious institutions, and professional bodies.
