The integration of PFRDA and DigiLocker has made it easy and quick for the NPS subscribers to access their NPS account statement and examine their pension wealth.
- DigiLocker provides cloud-based space to store documents and NPS statements securely.
- PFRDA has announced that NPS subscribers can access their NPS statement via DigiLocker.
- With this initiative, CRA has allowed users to access their account statements on DigiLocker.
The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, or PFRDA, has introduced a new way to access the National Pension System statement. Now the subscribers can leverage the benefits of DigiLocker for easy access to their NPS account statement.
What is DigiLocker?
DigiLocker is a digital platform that acts like a private cloud-based space to store files or documents. As per the PFRDA, NPS subscribers can access their NPS Statement with DigiLocker and know their pension wealth easily. Subscribers can download their digital PRAN (Permanent Retirement Account Number) from DigiLocker.

How to get access to the NPS statement via DigiLocker?
One must follow the steps to access the NPS account statement through DigiLocker.
Step 1: Sign up for DigiLocker using a mobile or Aadhaar number.
Step 2: One-time password (OTP) will be sent to the given mobile number to authenticate the subscriber. Subscribers will now set their PIN for DigiLocker.
Step 3: After authentication, the DigiLocker account will be successfully created.
Step 4: The documents in the DigiLocker will be the e-documents that are issued by government authorities, such as PFRDA-appointed Central Record Keeping Agency (CRA).
Step 5: These e-documents will be accessed by the members from the original data source, which is the CRA system.
Step 6: Tap on the “Issued Documents” on the DigiLocker app. This section contains links to issued documents.
Step 7: Now, search PFRDA, and choose the respective CRA.
Step 8: Enter the 12-digit PRAN.
Step 9: Give consent to the DigiLocker to share the details with the CRA. This will automatically fetch the details of the Account statement.

The following are the services offered by CRA:
- Protean e-Governance Technologies CRA (PCRA)
- Computer age management services CRA (CCRA)
- KFIN Technologies CRA (KCRA)
All of these services offer the following benefits to DigiLocker members:
- Subscribers can view their e-PRAN card.
- Address updates can be done using Aadhaar.
- Subscribers can open their NPS accounts via Aadhaar-DigiLocker Integration.
The PFRDA and DigiLocker integration has made viewing and accessing NPS easy for users. One can securely store their personal documents and NPS statements in DigiLocker and get them easily anytime. This made accessing the NPS data easy for senior citizens, as they no longer have to contact multiple offices to get their NPS account statement.
