Google Pay is a mobile-based payment service that enables you to activate your UPI through your Aadhaar. You can easily register for Aadhaar-based UPI through the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). You won’t need a debit card to set your UPI PIN. Several banks have access to these features, which made UPI easy for Bank account customers.

How to activate UPI through Aadhaar
Before starting the process of UPI activation, you must ensure that the phone number you are using is registered with the UIDAI and your bank account. The bank account should also be linked to your Aadhaar to facilitate UPI activation. Here are the steps you can follow to activate UPI on your phone.
Step 1: Open Google Pay and select Aadhaar-based UPI onboarding.
Step 2: Enter the first six digits of your Aadhaar number. You will get an OTP from the bank and UIDAI to verify your authentication process.
Step 3: The bank will verify the process and allow you to set your UPI PIN.
Moreover, when you enter six digits of your Aadhaar, it is sent for validation to UIDAI through NPCI. It verifies your Aadhaar’s security and does not store or retain your Aadhaar number.

How can you create a UPI Number?
UPI number is an 8-10 digit number that allows you to send or receive payments. You can create up to three UPI numbers regardless of the app you use. Here are the steps to create your UPI number.
Step 1: Open Google Pay, and from the top right, select your profile picture.
Step 2: Choose your bank account under the payment method option.
Step 3: Move to the "Manage UPI Number" option and follow the on-screen steps.
