Checking the status of PM Kisan scheme credit
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme was launched in 2019 as a social welfare scheme for Indian farmers. The scheme offers Rs.6000 annual credit to landholding farmers of India to help them financially. The amount is credited in three instalments of Rs.2000 each over the year.
After the scheme was launched, the Prime Minister regularly released instalments to fund Indian farmers. Recently, on 27th February 2023, the 13th instalment was released when the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, was visiting Karnataka. Valuing Rs.16,000 crores, the amount has been credited to eligible farmers’ bank accounts.
How to become eligible to claim the benefit?
A farmer and his family can receive the benefit credited to his bank account, provided he owns farming land in his name. Moreover, the name of the beneficiary should be mentioned to receive direct credit.
The bank account of the eligible farmer should be eKYC compliant. Farmers can also opt for the OTP-based eKYC from the PMKISAN website. Alternatively, for biometric-based eKYC, farmers can contact the Common Service Centre (CSC).
