A hike in Customs Duty to 20% from the existing 15% was announced during the Union Budget 2018-19 speech.

Imported items that will become cheaper:
Raw cashew nuts
Solar tempered glass used for manufacturing solar panels or modules
Raw materials, parts /Accessories used in making cochlear implants
Certain capital goods & electronics (ball screws & linear motion guides)

Electronics: LCD/LED TV panels, Mobile phones, Lamps, Video game consoles
Toys: Tricycles, scooters, pedal cars, wheeled toys, doll carriages, dolls, toys, puzzles of all kinds
Coloured gemstones & diamonds
Beauty care products: Sunscreen, suntan, manicure, pedicure - - preparations, perfumes
Articles & equipment for sports or outdoor games, swimming pools & paddling pools
Accessories: Sunglasses, Smartwatches/wearable devices, wristwatches, pocket watches, imitation jewellery
Personal care: Preparations for oral, dental hygiene, denture fixative pastes & powders; dental floss, pre-shave, shaving or after-shave preparations, toilet waters, scent sprays & similar toilet sprays, deodorants, bath preparations, depilatories, perfumery
Personal care: Eatables and Edibles: Vegetable, fruit juices, including orange and cranberry, food preparations other than soya protein, edible/ vegetable oils such as olive oil & groundnut oil
Personal care: Others: Footwear, kites, truck & bus radial tyres, cigarette and other lighters, candles, furniture, mattresses, clocks
