We expect the Indian equity markets to open negatively after SGX Nifty hinted at it. We saw Nifty futures trading 1.14% or 197 points in the red on the Singapore Exchange. Religare Broking, VP – Research, Ajit Mishra, said the investors would look for information viz WPI, CPI, and IIP.

Here is a deeper look into the stocks that are in focus on October 10. 

TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) 

This major IT company will be under the scanners as it will announce the quarterly result for September 2022. If we listen to experts, they believe the IT major will keep its revenue growth going, and its operating margins might improve due to the wage hike impact in Q1. Experts think it will show healthy growth across various segments. The key things to look out for would be deal winds, the benefit of rupee depreciation, EBIT margin outlook, and attrition rate.

Star Health and Allied Insurance Company

We saw the company hit a gross direct premium of Rs 5,655.1cr for September 2022 end of the quarter. It means there was a 12% YoY growth amid a 21% YoY growth in its health-retail segment, clocking an increase of Rs 4,306.4cr.

Lupin

Non-Executive Vice Chairman of Lupin, Kamal K. Sharma, will step down from the Board of Directors of Lupin on October 14, 2022. 

HDFC 

HDFC plans to raise around Rs. 12,000cr through private placement bond issuing. The base issue size will be Rs. 1,000cr and would have an option to keep an over-subscription till Rs. 11,000cr. NCDs will have an 8.07%/year coupon rate for ten years.

IDBI Bank

The Indian government has engaged Link Legal and KPMG to manage the stake sale transaction of the IDBI Bank. While KPMG will be the transaction advisor, Link Legal will be the legal advisor. LIC India and the GOI want to sell over 30% of each stake in the Bank. LIC owns 49.24%, while the GOI holds 45.48% shareholding in IDBI Bank. 

Tata Motors

We saw Jaguar Land Rover sell 88,121 vehicles for the 2022 September-end quarter. It is 11.80% up from the previous quarter. However, it is down by 4.9% YoY. Retail sales in North America ( up 27%), China (up 38%), and Overseas (up 14%)  were higher when we compared it to the first quarter. However, it decreased in Europe (10%) and the UK (7%). The company witnessed a sales volume decline of 23.2% at 1.66 lakh vehicles YoY in the FY23 first half. Q2FY23 sees an increase in the total order book by 5,000 vehicles. The growth takes the number to 2.05 lakh vehicles compared to the last quarter. 

Power Grid Corporation of India

Bhind Guna Transmission, the POWERGRID subsidiary, has commissioned the transmission system successfully in Madhya Pradesh. It secured transmission system establishment order for intra-state. It would construct Guna, a 400kV substation, and near Bhind, a 220kV substation. It would maintain, build, operate, and own it.

Suzlon Energy

Vinod R Tanti will be the MD and Chairman of Suzlon Energy immediately till October 6, 2025, for three years. Girish R Tanti will be appointed as the executive vice chairman and executive director. 

Religare Broking, VP – Research Ajit Mishra, said the week starts the season for earnings with major IT companies like Wipro, HCL Tech, Infosys, and TCS ready to announce their numbers with HDFC Bank and Bajaj Auto later in the week. Participants will also monitor crude, currency movements, FIIs trend, and performance in the US market.
